 In Four-Hour Work Week Tim Ferros teaches how to escape 9 to 5 job and reduce work for making money. The book is rich with tips tricks to make yourself productive, how to start your own business, how to put it on automation and leave to travel world. The latter part of the book focuses on how to travel world and live a happy life.

My notes from the book is given as:

  • Adopt lose-win approach when to sell something. Give customer 100% free product if it does not satisfy.
  • Domino's initially offer free pizza if does not delivered within 30 minutes.
  • Learn to slow down.
  • Travel between Tuesday and Thursday they will be cheaper to travel.
  • Purchase tickets in advance or on last moments
  • Reduce extra clutter in home. It takes attention and cause distraction
  • Carry less stuff with yourself while travelling.
  • Narrow down your niche. Make your product for few customers
  • It is more profitable to be big fish in small pond than a small undefined fish in big pond.
  • Enjoy life. Help others. Keep learning.
  • Service  is attitude. It is saving life, teaching someone how to change his/her life.
  • Recapture the excitement of childhood. it is nor impossible. it is required for happiness.
  • If you cannot find meaning in life. it is your responsibility as a human being to create it.
  • Time without attention is worthless.
  • Let some small bad things happen for some big important things in life.
  • Get 2-3  hour dinner with your loved ones per week.
  • Doing something unimportant well does not make it important.
  • It is better to keep old resolutions than making new one.
  • Prioritise few important thing for a day than nothing will seem urgent to you.
  • Rehearse poverty regularly
  • More choices make you less happy.
  • Income is renewable but attention is not.
  • Eliminate complaining to minimise regret.
  • Regret consume your attention.
  • Experiment 21 days without complaining.
  • If you want to reduce fats in your body, then eat low fats foods for long time.
  • Do not answer calls from unrecognised numbers.
  • Do not email first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening.
  • Do not agree to meeting with no clear agenda.
  • Do not over-communicate with low profit and high maintenance costumers.
  • Don't carry your phone with you 24/7.
  • If you are troubling to decide what to do then focus on to do nothing.
  • Shorten your work time so that you can focus on the important tasks only.
  • Short deadlines produce same or higher results than that of long one.
  • Wealth of information create poverty of attention
  • Cultivate selective ignorance
  • Learning to ignore thing is one of the greatest path to inner peace.
  • If a task does not appeal you never try to finish it.
  • Beg forgiveness, don't ask for permission.
